Blog Archive GMAT Impact Kaplan Survey Confirms IR Is Low Priority (This Year) When it comes to the GMAT, raw intellectual horsepower helps, but it is not everything. In this weekly blog series, Manhattan GMATâs Stacey Koprince teaches you how to perform at your best on test day by using some common sense. As we discussed a few months ago, most schools are still determining how to use Integrated Reasoning (IR) during the admissions process. A recent US News World Report article reports on a new survey just released by Kaplan Test Prep; the survey lends broader support to the anecdotal reports that we have been hearing from individual schools. Kaplan surveyed 265 business schools, including 17 of the top 25, to find out how they have been using IR so far. A little over half are still figuring out what to do with the score, while roughly one-quarter of the respondents indicated that they already consider IR âimportant.â Even in that last category, though, the schools are still determining how much emphasis to place on IR. US News spoke with Dawna Clarke, director of admissions at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and while she does consider IR important, she also indicated that they are still figuring out exactly how to use the scores in the absence of well-established historical data. In a nutshell, people are not quite sure yet what the data mean or how much of an impact it all should have on admissions. Expect all of this to begin changing next year. Assuming that the data eventually establish that the IR section does in fact identify strong business school candidates, the schools will likely begin using IR more seriously during the 2013 admissions season (for those who are hoping to enter a program beginning in 2014). How heavily will IR weigh in the admissions decision? We will not know that until we start to have better analyses of how useful the score is; if it turns out to be a strong predictor of B-school success, then IR is rapidly going to become a very important part of the GMAT. Western Imperialism and Modern East Asia Essay example
Western imperialism in East Asia caused many tribulations for China, Japan, and Korea but also helped them to become contemporary nations. The East Asian countries were tremendously affected by unequal treaties, extraterritoriality, and above all, technology. Great Britain encroached upon China their greed for open trade with the Chinese empire resulting in the deterioration of the Chinese culture, which led to the emergence of a modernized civilization. Japan was co-subjugated by Russia and the United States so that the trade routes of these western countries could extend into the east, which resulted in the foundation of industrialization in Modern East Asia. Finally, the spread of western Christianity and influential neighbors,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦McGuire 2 Chinese traders began exchanging tea and silver to The East India Company for a return of Bengali opium imports. Consequently, as the opium addicts rose, so did the supply and demand of exports from Great Britain to China. The ensuing drug trafficking accordingly corrupted many Chinese officials. The opium cartel held by The East India Company made other British agents unhappy, as they too wanted trading monopolies with China in areas such as industrialized textiles. By 1834, Great Britain directed Lord Napier to bypass the commerce authority in China, the Cohong, and negotiate matters of trade with Chinaââ¬â¢s governor-general who declined any business agreements for the reason that the Chinese ââ¬Ësaw no reason to sully their dignity by dealing with barbariansââ¬â¢. (pp. 298) Hence, in 1839, when Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu arrived in the Chinese trading port of Guangzhou to suppress the opium transfer, war broke out between Great Britain and China. Commissioner Zexu was successful in eradicating the opium from the port, yet the Opium War was a defeat for the Chinese and their morality. Queen Victoria of Great Britain quickly retaliated on China and gained British compensation to their exported commodities and an agreement from China for the repayment to British peddlers for their destroyed property. Catcher in the Rye Theme Essay - 1212 Words

Salinger, is a novel in which the author creates much irony in the way he presents the loss of innocence or the fall from innocence in his main character, Holden Caulfield. How does it come about that a Muslim happens to be elaborating prognostications from the Judaic and Christian Scriptures? As a immature adult male, about 30 old ages ago, I attended a series of spiritual talks by a Christian theologian, a certain Rev. Hiten, at the Theater Royal , Durban in South Africa. Pope or Kissinger? : This Reverend gentleman was elaborating Biblical prognostications. He went on to turn out that the Christian Bible foretold the rise of Soviet Russia, and the Last Days. At one phase he went to the extent of turn outing that his Holy Book did non go forth even the Pope out of its anticipations. He expatiated smartly in order to convert his audience that the Beast 666 mentioned in The Book of Revelation, the last book of the New Testament, was the Pope, who was the Vicar of Christ on Earth. Christian bookmans are clever and tireless in their attempts to turn out their instance. Rev. Hiten # 8217 ; s talks led me to inquire that if the Bible foretold so many things # 8211 ; non even excepting the Pope and Israel , # 8211 ; so surely it must hold something to state about the greatest helper of world, prophesier Muhammad, may the peace of Allah be upon him. As a child I set out to seek for an reply. I met priest after priest, attended talks, and read everything that I could put my custodies associating to the Fieldss of Bible prognostications. Tonight I # 8217 ; m traveling to narrate to you one of these interviews with a Dominee of the Dutch Reformed Church. Lucky Thirteen: I was invited to the Transvaal ( South Africa ) to present a talk on the juncture of the birthday of the prophesier Muhammad. Knowing that in that state of the Republic, the Afrikaans linguistic communication is widely spoken, even by my ain people, I felt that I ought to get a handful of this linguistic communication so as to experience a small at place with the people. I opened the telephone directory and began calling the Afrikaans-speaking Churches. I indicated my intent to the priests that I was interested in holding a duologue with them, but they all refused my petition with plausible alibis. No. 13 was my lucky figure. The thirteenth call brought me pleasance and alleviation. A Dominee Van Heerden ( Dominee is the Afrikaans equivalent of priest ) agreed to run into me at his place on the Saturday afternoon that I was to go forth for Transvaal. He received me on his gallery with a friendly welcome. He said if I did non mind, he would wish his father-in- jurisprudence from the Free State, a 70 twelvemonth old adult male, to fall in us in the treatment. I did non mind. The three of us settled down in the Dominee # 8217 ; s library. Why Nothing? I posed the inquiry: What does the Bible say about Muhammad? Without vacillation he answered: Nothing! I asked: Why nil? Harmonizing to your reading the Bible has so many things to state about the rise of Soviet Russia and about the Last Days and even about the Pope of the Roman Catholics? He said: Yes, but there was nil about Muhammad! I asked once more: Why nil? Surely this adult male Muhammad who had been responsible for the delivery into being a global community of 1000000s of trusters who, on his authorization, believe in: the marvelous birth of Jesus, that Jesus is the Messiah, that he gave life to the dead by God # 8217 ; s permission, and that he healed those born blind and the lazars by God # 8217 ; s permission. Surely this book ( the Bible ) must hold something to state about this great leader of work forces who radius so good of Jesus and his female parent Mary? The old adult male from the Free State replied: My boy, I have been reading the Bible for the past 50 old ages, and if there was any reference of him, I would hold known it. Not One by Name! I inquired: Harmonizing to you, are at that place non 100s of prognostications sing the coming of Jesus in the Old Testament. The Dominee interjected: Not 100s, but 1000s! I said: I am non traveling to challenge the 1000 and one prognostications in the Old Testament sing the coming of Jesus Christ, because the whole Muslim universe has already accepted him without the testimony of any Biblical prognostication. Moslems have accepted the Delaware facto Jesus on the authorization of Muhammad entirely, and there are in the universe today no less than 900,000,000 followings of Muhammad, who love, regard, and revere Jesus Christ as a great Messenger of God without holding the Christians to convert them by agencies of Biblical dialectics. Out of the # 8216 ; 1000s # 8217 ; of prognostications referred to, can you delight give me merely one individual prognostication where Jesus is mentioned by name? The term Messiah, translated as Christ, is non a name but a rubric. Is there a individual prognostication where it says that the name of the Messiah will be Jesus, and that his female parent # 8217 ; s name will be Mary, that his supposed male parent will be Joseph the Carpenter ; that he will be born in the reign of Herod the King, etc? No! There are no such inside informations! Then how can you reason that those # 8216 ; Thousand # 8217 ; prognostications refer to Jesus, peace be upon him? What is Prophecy? The Dominee answers: You see, prognostications are word images of something that is traveling to go on in the hereafter. When that thing really comes to go through, we see vividly in these prognostications the fulfilment of what had been predicted in the yesteryear. I said: What you really do is that you deduce, you ground, you put two and two together. He said: Yes. I said: If this is what you have to make with a # 8216 ; thousand # 8217 ; prognostications to warrant your claim with respects to the genuineness of Jesus, why should we non follow the really same system for Muhammad? The Dominee agreed that it was a just proposition, a sensible manner of covering with the job. I asked him to open up Deuteronomy, chapter 18, verse 18, which he did. I read from memory the poetry in Afrikaans, because this was my intent in holding a small pattern with the linguistic communication of the opinion race in South Africa. N Profeet sal ek vir hulle verwek uit die midde new wave hulle broers, soos jy is, en ek sal my woorde in sy mond lupus erythematosus, en hy sy sal aan hulle se alle wat ekhom beveel. ( Deut 18:18 ) The English interlingual rendition reads as follows: I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will set my words in his oral cavity ; and he shall talk unto them all that I shall command him. ( Deut 18:18 ) Prophet Like Moses: Having recited the poetry in Afrikaans, I apologized for my unsure pronunciation ; the Dominee assured me that I was making all right. I inquired: To whom does this prognostication refer? Without the slightest vacillation he answered: The nazarene! I asked: Why Jesus? his name is non mentioned here The Dominee replied: Since prognostications are word images of something that is traveling to go on in the hereafter, we find that the dictions of this poetry adequately describe him. You see, the most of import words of this prognostication are # 8217 ; soos jy is # 8217 ; , # 8216 ; like unto thee # 8217 ; , or # 8216 ; like you # 8217 ; # 8211 ; like Moses ; and Jesus is similar Moses. I asked the Dominee: In which manner is Jesus like Moses? The reply was: In the first topographic point Moses was a Jew and Jesus was besides a Jew ; secondly, Moses was a Prophet and Jesus was besides a Prophet # 8211 ; therefore Jesus is similar Moses and that is precisely what God had foretold Moses # 8211 ; # 8217 ; soos jy is # 8217 ; . Can you think of any other similarities between Moses and Jesus? I asked. The Dominee said that he could non believe of any. I replied: If these are the lone two standards for detecting a campaigner for this prognostication of Deuteronomy 18:18, so in that instance the standards could suit any one of the undermentioned Biblical personages after Moses: Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John the Baptist etc. , because they were besides wholly Jews every bit good as Nebiims. Why should we non use this prognostication to any one of these Prophetss, and why merely to Jesus? The Dominee had no answer. I continued: You see, my decisions are that Jesus is most unlike Moses, and if I am incorrect I would wish you to rectify me. Three Unlike: So remaining, I reasoned with him: In the first topographic point Jesus is non similar Moses, because, harmonizing to you, Jesus is God, but Moses is non God, is this true? He said: Yes. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses! . Second, harmonizing to you, Jesus died for the wickednesss of the universe, but Moses did non hold to decease for the wickednesss of the universe. Is this true? He once more said: Yes. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses! . Third, harmonizing to you, Jesus went to Hell for three yearss, but Moses did non hold to travel at that place. Is this true? He answered meekly: Y-e-s! I concluded: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses! . But Dominee, .. I continued: ..these are non difficult, solid facts, they are mere affairs of belief over which the small 1s can falter and fall. Let us discourse something really simple, really easy that if the small 1s are called in to hear the treatment, would hold no trouble following it, shall we? The Dominee was quiet happy at the suggestion. Father and Mother Moses had a male parent and a female parent. Muhammad besides had a male parent and a female parent. But Jesus had merely a female parent, and no human male parent. Is this true? He said: Yes. I said: Daarom is Jesus nie soos Moses nie, maar Muhammad is soos Moses! Meaning: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses, but Muhammad is like Moses! ( By now the reader will recognize that I was utilizing the Afrikaans linguistic communication merely for pattern intents. I shall stop its usage in this narrative ) . Marvelous Birth Moses and Muhammad were born in the normal, natural class, i.e. the physical association of adult male and adult female ; but Jesus was created by a particular miracle. You will remember that we are told in the Gospel of St. Matthew 1:18 ..before they came together, ( Joseph the Carpenter and Mary ) she was found with kid by the Holy Ghost. And St. Luke tells us that when the good intelligence of the birth of a holy boy was announced to her, Mary reasoned: How shall this be, seeing I know non a adult male? And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall dominate thee ( Luke 1:35 ) . The Holy Quran confirms the marvelous birth of Jesus, in nobler and sublimer footings. In reply to her logical inquiry: # 8216 ; O my Godhead! How shall I have a boy when no adult male hath touched me? # 8217 ; The angel says in answer: # 8216 ; Even so, Allah createth what He willeth: when He hath decreed a program, He but saith to it # 8216 ; Be # 8217 ; , and it is # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran, 3:47 ) . It is non necessary for God to works a seed in adult male or animate being. He simply wills it and it comes into being. This is the Muslim construct of the of birth of Jesus. ( When I compared the Quran and the Biblical versions of the birth of Jesus to the caput of the Bible Society in our largest metropolis, and when I inquired: Which version would you prefer to give your girl, the Quranic version or the Biblical version? The adult male bowed his caput and answered: The Quranic. ) ( see Christ in Islam for the writer ) . In short, I said to the Dominus: Is it true that Jesus was born miraculously as against the natural birth of Moses and Muhammad? He replied proudly: Yes! I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses, but Muhammad is similar Moses. And God says to Moses in the Book of Deuteronomy 18:18 # 8216 ; Like unto thee # 8217 ; , # 8216 ; Like You # 8217 ; , like Moses and Muhammad is similar Moses. Marriage Ties Moses and Muhammad married and had kids, but Jesus remained a unmarried man all his life. Is this true? The Dominee said: Yes. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses, but Muhammad is similar Moses. Jesus Rejected by his Peoples Moses and Muhammad were accepted as Prophetss by their people in their very lifetime. No uncertainty the Jews gave endless problem to Moses and they murmured in the wilderness, but as a state, they acknowledged that Moses was a Messenger of God sent to them. The Arabs excessively made Muhammad # 8217 ; s life impossible. He suffered really severely at their custodies. After 13 old ages of prophesying in Mecca, he had to emigrate from the metropolis of his birth. But before his death, the Arab state as a whole accepted him as the Messenger of Allah. But harmonizing to the Bible, He ( Jesus ) Came unto his ain, but his ain revived him non ( John 1:11 ) . And even today, after two thousand old ages, his people, the Jews, as a whole, have rejected him. Is this true? The Dominee said: Yes. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses, but Muhammad is like Moses. Other Worldly Kingdom Moses and Muhammad were Prophetss every bit good as male monarchs. A prophesier means a adult male who receives Divine Revelation for the Guidance of adult male and this Guidance he conveys to God # 8217 ; s animals as received without any add-on or omission. A male monarch is a individual who has the power of life and decease over his people. It is immaterial whether the individual wears a Crown or non, or whether he was of all time addressed as male monarch or sovereign: if the adult male has the privilege of bring downing capital penalty, he is a male monarch. Moses possessed such a power. Make you retrieve the Israelite who was found picking up firewood on Sabbath Day, and Moses had him stoned to decease? ( Numbers 15:13 ) . There are other offenses besides mentioned in the Bible for which capital penalty was inflicted on the Jews at the behest of Moses. Muhammad excessively, had the power of life and decease over his people. There are cases in the Bible of individuals who were given gift of prognostication merely, but they were non in a place to implement their directives. Some of these holy work forces of God who were helpless in the face of obstinate rejection of their message, were the Prophetss Lot, Jonah, Daniel, Ezra, and John the Baptist. They could merely present the message, but could non implement the Law. Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, besides belonged to this class. The Christian Gospel clearly confirms this. When Jesus was dragged before the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate, charged for sedition, Jesus made a convincing point in his defence to rebut the false charge: The nazarene answered: My Kingdom is non of this universe. If my Kingdom were of this universe, so would my retainers battle, that I should non be delivered to the Jews ; but now is my Kingdom non from hence ( John 18:36 ) . This positive Pilate ( a heathen ) that though Jesus might non be in full ownership of his mental module, he did non strike him as being a danger to his regulation. Jesus claimed a religious Kingdom merely ; in other words he merely claimed to be a prophesier. Is this true? The Dominee answered: Yes. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses but Muhammad is like Moses. No New Laws Moses and Muhammad brought new Torahs and new ordinances for their people. Moses non merely gave the Ten Commandments to the Hebrewss, but a really comprehensive ceremony jurisprudence for the counsel of his people. Muhammad comes to a people steeped in ignorance. They married their step-mothers and buried their girls alive ; inebriation, devotion, and chancing were the order of the twenty-four hours. There was barely anything to separate between the # 8216 ; adult male # 8217 ; and the # 8216 ; carnal # 8217 ; of the clip. From this low ignorance, Muhammad elevated the Arabs, in the words of Thomas Carlysle, # 8216 ; Into torch-bearers of visible radiation and acquisition. To the Arab state it was as a birth from darkness into light. Arabia first became alive by agencies of it. A hapless shepherd people, rolling unnoticed in its comeuppances since the creative activity of the universe. See, the unnoticed becomes universe noteworthy, the little has grown world-great. Within one century afterwards Arabia was at Granada on one manus and at Delhi on the other. Glancing in heroism and luster, and the visible radiation of Genius, Arabia shines over subdivision of the world.. # 8217 ; . The fact is that Muhammad gave his people a Law and Order they neer had earlier. As respects Jesus, when the Jews felt leery of him that he might be an imposter with designs to corrupt their instructions. The nazarene took strivings to guarantee them that he had non come with a new faith # 8211 ; no new Torahs and no new ordinances. I quote his ain words: Think non that I am come to destruct the jurisprudence of the Nebiims: I am non come to destruct, but to carry through. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth base on balls, one jot of one rubric shall in no wise base on balls from the jurisprudence, till all be fulfilled. # 8217 ; ( Mathew 5:17-18 ) . In other words he had non come with any new Torahs or ordinance he came merely to carry through the old jurisprudence. This what he gave the Jews to understand unless he was talking with the lingua in his cheek seeking to bluff the Jews into accepting him as a adult male of God and by blind seeking to pound a new faith down their pharynxs. No! This Messenger of God would neer fall back to such disgusting agencies to overthrow the Religion of God. He himself fulfilled the Torahs. He observed the commandments of Moses, and he respected the Sabbath. At no clip did a individual Jew point a finger at him to state: # 8216 ; Why don # 8217 ; t you fast # 8217 ; or # 8216 ; why don # 8217 ; t you wash your custodies before you break bread # 8217 ; , which charges they ever levied against his adherents, but neer against Jesus. This is because as a good Hebrew he honored the Torahs of the Prophetss who preceded him. In short, he had created no new faith and had brought no new jurisprudence like Moses and Muhammad. Isn # 8217 ; t this true? I asked the Dominee, and he answered: Yes. I said: Therefore, Jesus is non similar Moses but Muhammad is similar Moses. How they Departed Both Moses and Muhammad died natural deceases, but harmonizing to Christianity, Jesus was killed on the cross. Is this true? The Dominee said: Yes. I averred: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses but Muhammad is similar Moses. Heavenly Abode Moses and Muhammad both prevarication buried in Earth, but harmonizing to you, Jesus is in Eden. Is this true? The Dominee agreed. I said: Therefore Jesus is non similar Moses but Muhammad is like Moses. Ishmael the First Born Since the Dominee was impotently holding with every point, I said: Dominee, so far what I have done is to prove merely one point out of the whole prognostication # 8211 ; that is turn outing the phrase # 8216 ; Like unto thee # 8217 ; # 8211 ; # 8216 ; Like You # 8217 ; , like Moses # 8217 ; . The Prophecy is much more than this individual phrase which reads as follows: # 8216 ; I will raise them up a prophesier from among thei R bretheren like unto thee..ââ¬â¢ The accent is on the words From among their brethren. Moses and his people, the Jews, are here addressed as a racial entity, as a whole, and as such their brethren would doubtless be the Arabs. Abraham had two married womans, Sarah and Hagar. Hagar bore Abraham a boy, his foremost born, # 8216 ; ..and Abraham called his boy # 8217 ; s name, which Hagar bare Ishmael. # 8217 ; ( Genesis 16:15 ) . # 8216 ; And Abraham took Ishmael his son.. # 8217 ; ( Genesis 17:23 ) . # 8216 ; And Ishmael his boy was 13 old ages old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. # 8217 ; ( Genesis 17:25 ) . Up to the age of 13 Ishmael was the lone boy of Abraham, so God grants him another boy through Sarah, named Isaac, who was really much the junior to his brother Ishmael. Arabs and Jews If Ishmael and Isaac are the boies of the same male parent Abraham, so they are brothers. And so the kids of the 1 are the bretheren of the kids of the other. The kids of Isaac are the Jews and the kids of Ishmael are the Arabs # 8211 ; so they are bretheren to one another. The Bible affirms: # 8216 ; And he ( Ishmael ) shall dwell in the presence of all his bretheren. # 8217 ; ( Genesis 16:12 ) . # 8216 ; And he ( Ishmael ) died in the presence of all his bretheren. ( Genesis 25:18 ) . The kids of Isaac are the brethren of the Ishmaelites. In similar mode Muhammad is from among the brethren of the Israelites because he was a descendent of Ishmael the boy of Abraham. This precisely as the prognostication has it # 8211 ; From among their bretheren ( Deut.18:18 ) . There the prognostication clearly mentions that the coming prophesier who would be like Moses, must originate non from the Children of Israel nor from among themselves, but from among their brethren. Muhammad hence was among their bretheren! Wordss in the Mouth The prognostication returns farther: # 8216 ; ..And I will set my words into his mouth.. # 8217 ; What does it intend when it is said # 8216 ; I will set my words in your oral cavity # 8217 ; ? You see, when I asked you ( the Dominee ) to open Deuteronomy chapter 18, verse 18, at the beginning, and if I had asked you to read, and if you had read, would I be seting my words into your oral cavity? The Dominee answered: No. But, I continued: If I were to learn you a linguistic communication like Arabic, about which you have no cognition, and if I asked you to read or reiterate after me what I utter i.e. Say: # 8216 ; He is Allah the One and Merely ; Allah, the ageless absolute ; He begetteth non, nor is He begotten ; and there is none like unto Him. # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran 112:1-4 ) ( I read them in Arabic ) . Would I non be seting these unheard words of a foreign lingua which you utter, into your oral cavity? The Dominee agreed that it was so so. In an indistinguishable mode , I said: The words of the Holy Quran, the Revelation vouchsafed by the Almighty God to Muhammad, were revealed. History tells us that when Muhammad was 40 old ages of age he was in a cave some three stat mis north of the City of Mecca. In the cave the Archangel Gabriel bids him in his female parent lingua: # 8216 ; Eqra! # 8217 ; , which means # 8216 ; Read! # 8217 ; , or # 8216 ; Recite! # 8217 ; Muhammad was terrified, and in his obfuscation replied that he was non learned! . The angel commands him a 2nd clip with the same consequence. For the 3rd clip the angel continues. Now Muhammad, appreciation that what was required of him was to reiterate! to practise! And he repeats the words as they were put into his oral cavity: # 8216 ; Read! In the Name of the Lord and Cherisher, Who Created. Created adult male from a ( mere ) coagulum of jelled blood: Read! and thy Lord is the Most Bountiful, He Who taught ( the usage of ) the pen, taught adult male that which he new non . ( the Holy Quran 96:1-5 ) . These are the first five poetries which were revealed to Muhammad, which now occupy the beginning of the 96th chapter of the Holy Quran. The Faithful Witness When the angel departed, Muhammad rushed to his place. Terrified and sudating all over he asked his married woman Khadija to # 8216 ; cover-him up! # 8217 ; He lay down, and she watched by him. When he had regained his calm, he explained to her what he had seen and heard. She assured him of her religion in him and that Allah would non let any awful thing to go on to him. Are these the confessions of an imposter? Would impostors confess that when an angel of the Lord confronts them with a Message from on High, they get fear-stricken, terrified, and sudating all over, run place to their married womans? Any critic can see that his reactions and confessions are that of an honest, sincere adult male. During the following 20 three old ages of his life, words were # 8216 ; put into his oral cavity # 8217 ; , and he expressed them. They made an unerasable feeling on his bosom and head ; and as the volume of the Sacred Scripture, the Holy Quran, grew, they were recorded on palm-leaf libre, on teguments ; and in the Black Marias of his devoted adherents. Before his death these words were arranged harmonizing to his instructions in the order in which we find them today in the Holy Quran. The words ( disclosure ) were really put into his oral cavity, precisely as foretold in the prognostication under treatment: And I will set my words in his oral cavity. ( Deut 18:18 ) . Unlettered Prophet Muhammad # 8217 ; s experience in the Cave of Hira, and his response to that first Revelation is the exact fulfilment of another Biblical Prophecy. In the Book of Isaiah, chapter 29, verse 12, we read: # 8216 ; And the Book is delivered to him that is non learned # 8217 ; ( Isaiah 29:12 ) . # 8216 ; The Unlettered prophesier # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran 7:158 ) . And the Biblical poetry continues: # 8216 ; Stating, read this, I pray thee: # 8217 ; # 8216 ; And he saith, I am non learned. # 8217 ; . # 8216 ; I am non learned. # 8217 ; is the exact interlingual rendition of the Arabic words which Muhammad uttered twice to the Holy Spirit, the Archangel Gabriel, when he was commanded: # 8216 ; Read! # 8217 ; ) . Let me cite the poetry in full without a interruption as found in the King James Version, or the Authorized Version as it is more popularly cognize: # 8216 ; And the Book is delivered to him that is no learned, stating: # 8216 ; Read this I pray thee # 8217 ; . And he saith: # 8216 ; I am non learned. # 8217 ; # 8216 ; ( Isaiah 29:12 ) . Important note: It may be noted that there were no Arabic Christian bibles in being in the sixth century of the Christian Era when Muhammad lived and preached. Besides, he was perfectly analphabetic and unconditioned. He neer knew how to read and compose Arabic, his ain linguistic communication, allow entirely cognizing a wholly different one. # 8216 ; He does non talk ( aught ) of ( his ain ) desire: It is no lupus erythematosus than inspiration sent down to him. He was taught by One Mighty in Power # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran 53:3-5 ) . Without any human acquisition, # 8216 ; he put to dishonor the wisdom of the erudite # 8217 ; . Sculpt Warning See! I told the Dominee, how the prognostications fit Muhammad like a baseball mitt. We do non hold to stretch prognostications to warrant their fulfilment in Muhammad. The Dominee replied, All your expoundings sound really good, but they are of no existent effect, because we Christians have Jesus Christ the incarnate God, who has redeemed us from the Bondage of Sin! I asked: Not of import? God didn # 8217 ; t think so! He had His warnings recorded in the Bibles. God knew that there would be people like you who will lightsomely dismiss His words, so He followed up Deuteronomy 18:18 with a daring warning: # 8216 ; And it shall come to go through ( it is traveling to go on ) , that whosoever will non hark unto My words which he shall talk in My Name, I will necessitate if of him. # 8217 ; ( In the Catholic Bible the stoping words are # 8216 ; I will be the revenger # 8217 ; , # 8216 ; I will take retaliation! # 8217 ; ) . Does non this terrorize you? God Almighty is endangering retaliation! We shake in our bloomerss if some goon threatens us, yet you have no fright of God # 8217 ; s warning? Miracle of Miracles! in the poetry 19 of Deuteronomy chapter 18, we have a farther fulfilment of the prognostication in Muhammad! Note the words # 8216 ; ..My words which he shall talk in My Name # 8217 ; . In whose name is Muhammad talking? I opened Yusuf Ali # 8217 ; s interlingual rendition of the Holy Quran, at chapter 114, Surat An-Nas, or The Chapter of Mankind, the last chapter of the Quran, and showed him the expression at the caput of the chapter, and the significance: # 8216 ; In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful # 8217 ; . And the header of chapter 113, and the significance: # 8216 ; In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful # 8217 ; . And every chapter downwards 112, 111, 110, ..was the same expression and the same significance on every page, because the terminal surahs ( chapters ) are short and take about a page each. And what did the prophecy demand? # 8216 ; ..Which he shall talk in My Name # 8217 ; ; and in whose name does Muhammad speak? In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. The Prophecy is being fulfilled in Muhammad to the missive ; every chapter of the Holy Quran except the 9th Begin with the expression: # 8216 ; In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful # 8217 ; . The Muslim begins his every lawful act with the Holy expression. But the Christian Begins: # 8216 ; In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. # 8217 ; Refering Deuteronomy chapter 18, I have given you more than 15 grounds as to how this prophecy refers to Muhammad and non to Jesus. Baptist Contradicts Jesus In New Testament times, we find that the Jews were still anticipating the fulfilment of the prognostication of One like Moses, refer John 1:19-25. When The nazarene claimed to be the Messiah of the Jews, the Jews began to esquire as to where was Elias? The Jews had a parallel prognostication that before the coming of the Messiah, Elias must come foremost in his 2nd coming. The nazarene confirms this Judaic belief: Elias genuinely shall foremost come, and reconstruct all things. But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him non, .. so the Disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist. ( Mathew 17:11-13 ) . Harmonizing to the New Testament the Jews were non the 1s to get down the words of any manque Messiah. In their probes they underwent intense troubles in order to happen their true Messiah. And this the Gospel of John confirms: And this is the record of John ( the Baptist ) , when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to inquire him, # 8216 ; Who art 1000? # 8217 ; , and he confessed and denied non ; but confessed, # 8216 ; I am non the Christ # 8217 ; ( This was merely natural because there can # 8217 ; t be two Messiahs at the same clip. If Jesus was the Jesus so John couldn # 8217 ; t be the Christ! ) And they asked him: # 8216 ; What so? Art 1000 Elias? # 8217 ; And he saith: # 8216 ; I am non # 8217 ; Here John the Baptist contradicts Jesus! Jesus says that John is Elias and John denies that he is what Jesus ascribes him to be. One of the two ( Jesus or John ) , God forbid! , is decidedly non talking the truth! On the testimony of Jesus himself, John the Baptist was the greatest of the Israelite Prophetss: Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of adult females, there has non risen a greater than John the Baptist ( Matthew 11:11 ) . We Muslims know John the Baptist as Yahya. We revere him as a true prophesier of Allah. The Holy Prophet Jesus known to us as Eesa, is besides esteemed as one of the mightiest courier of the Almighty. How can we Muslims impute lies to either of them? We leave this job between Jesus and John for the Christians to work out, for their Sacred Scriptures abound in disagreements which they have been glossing over as the # 8216 ; dark expressions of Jesus # 8217 ; ( See the Times Magazine December 30th, 1974, article How true is the Bible? ) . We Muslims are truly interested in the last inquiries posed to John the Baptist by the Jewish elite # 8211 ; Art thou that prophesier? And he answered, No. ( John 1:21 ) . Three Questions! Please note that three different and distinguishable inquiries were posed to John the Baptist, and to which he gave three emphasized No # 8217 ; s as replies. To recapitulate: Art thou the Jesus? Art 1000 Elias? Art 1000 that Prophet? But the erudite work forces of Christendom somehow merely see two inquiries implied here. To do double clear that the Jews decidedly had three separate prognostications in their heads when they were interrogating John the Baptist. Let us read the expostulation of the Jews in the poetries following: And they asked him, and said unto him: # 8216 ; Why baptizest 1000 so, if thou be non that Christ.. nor Elias.. neither that Prophet? # 8217 ; ( John 1:25 ) . The Jews were waiting for the fulfilment of three distinguishable prognostications: a. the coming of Christ. b. the coming of Elias, and c. the coming of that Prophet. That Prophet If we look up any Bible which has a harmony or cross-indexs, so we will discovery in the fringy note where the words the Prophet, or that Prophet occur in John 1:25, that these words refer to the prognostication of Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18. And that that Prophet # 8211 ; the Prophet like Moses # 8211 ; Like unto thee , we have proved through overpowering grounds that he was Muhammad and non Jesus! Moslems are non denying that Jesus was the Messiah, which word is translated as Jesus. We are non contending the Thousand and One Prophecies which the Christians claim abound in the Old Testament announcing the coming of the Messiah. What we say is that Deuteronomy 18:18 does non mention to Jesus Christ but it is an expressed prognostication about the prophesier Muhammad! . The Dominee, really courteously parted with me by stating that it was a really interesting treatment and he would wish me really much to come one twenty-four hours and turn to his fold on the topic. A decennary and half has passed since so but I am still expecting that privilege. I believe the Dominee was sincere when he made the offer, but biass die difficult, and who would wish to free his sheep? The Acid Test To the Lambs of Christ I say, why non use that acerb trial which the Maestro himself wanted you to use to any would be claimant to prophethood? He had said: By their fruits ye shall cognize them. Make work forces garner grapes from the irritants, of figs from the thistles? Every good tree will bear good fruit and every immorality tree will bear evil fruit # 8230 ; By their fruits ye shall cognize them . ( Mathew 7:16-20 ) . Why are you afraid to use this trial to the instructions of Muhammad? You will happen in the Last Testament of God, the Holy Quran, the true fulfilment of the instructions of Moses and Jesus which will convey to the universe the much needed peace and felicity. George Bernard Shaw was quoted as stating: If a adult male like Muhammad were to presume the absolutism of the modern universe, he would win in work outing its jobs that would convey it the much needed peace and felicity. The hebdomadal intelligence magazine Time dated July 15, 1974, carried a choice of sentiments by assorted historiographers, authors, military work forces, business communities an others on the topic: Who were History # 8217 ; s Great Leaders? Some said that it was Hitler ; others said Gandhi, Buddha, Lincoln and the similar. But Jules Masserman, a United States psychoanalyst, put the criterions straight by giving the right standards wherewith to judge. He said: Leaderships must fulfill three maps: Supply for the wellbeing of the led, Supply a societal organisation in which people feel comparatively unafraid, and Supply them with one set of beliefs. With the above three standards he searches history and analyses Hitler, Pasteur, Gaesar, Moses, Confucius and the batch, and finally concludes: Peoples like Pasteur and Salk are leaders in the first sense. Peoples like Ghandi and Confucius, on one manus, and Alexander, Caesar, and Hitler on the other, are leaders in the 2nd, and possibly the 3rd sense. Jesus and Buddha belong in the 3rd class entirely. Possibly the greatest leader of all times was Muhammad, who combined all three maps. To a lesser grade, Moses did the same. Harmonizing to the nonsubjective criterions set by the professor of the Chicago University, Jesus and Buddha are nowhere in the image of the Great Leaders of Mankind , but by a fagot happenstance groups Moses and Muhammad together, therefore adding farther weight to the statement that Jesus is non like Moses, but Muhammad is similar Moses. Deut 18:18 Like unto thee , like Moses! In decision, I end with a citation of a Christian Reverend the observer of the Bible, followed by that of his Maestro: The ultimate standard of a true prophesier is the moral character of his instruction. ( Prof. Dummelow ) . By their fruits ye shall cognize them. ( Jesus Christ ) A reasoning suggestion: come allow us ground together! Say: # 8216 ; O People of the Book! Come to common footings as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah ( God ) ; that we associate no spouses with him ; that we erect non, from among ourselves, Godheads and frequenters other than Allah ( God ) # 8217 ; . If so they turn back, say: # 8216 ; Bear witness that we ( at least ) are Muslims ( Bowing to God # 8217 ; s Will ) . # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran 3:64 ) Peoples of the Book is the respectful rubric given to the Jews and the Christians in the Holy Quran. The Muslims are here commanded to ask for, O People of the Book! , O Learned Peoples! , O People who claim to be the receivers of Divine Revelation, of a Holy Bible ; allow us garner together onto a common platform, that we worship none but Allah ( God ) , because none but God is worthy of worship, non because The Lord thy God is a covetous God, sing the wickedness of the male parents upon the kids unto the 3rd and 4th coevals of them that hatred Maine. ( Exodus 20:25 ) . But because He is our Lord and Cherisher, our Sustainer and Evolver, worthy of all congratulations, supplication and devotedness. In the abstract the Jews and the Christians would hold to all the three propositions contained in this Quranic poetry. In pattern they fail. Apart from doctrinal oversights from the integrity of the One True God, Allah, may He be praised, there is the inquiry of a consecrated Priesthood ( among the Jews it was familial besides ) , as if a mere human being # 8211 ; Cohen or Pope, or Priest, or Brahuman, # 8211 ; could claim high quality apart from his acquisition and the pureness of his life, or could base between adult male and God in some particular sense. Islam does non acknowledge priesthood! . The Creed of Islam is given to us here in a nutshell from Holy Koran: Say ye: # 8216 ; We believe in Allah, and the disclosure given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes ( of the Children of Israel ) , And that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to ( all ) Nebiims from their Godhead: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah ( in Islam ) . # 8217 ; ( the Holy Quran 2:136 ) . The Muslim place is clear. The Muslim does non claim to hold a faith peculiar to himself. Islam is non a religious order or an cultural faith. In its position all faith is one, for the Truth is one: It was the same faith preached by all the earlier Prophetss. ( the Holy Quran 42:13 ) . It was the truth taught by all the divine Books. In kernel it amounts to a consciousness of the Will and Plan of God and a joyful entry to that Will and Plan. If anyone wants a faith other than that, he is false to his ain nature, as he is false to God # 8217 ; s Will and Plan. Such a 1 can non anticipate counsel, for he has intentionally renounced counsel.
